GLOCK 19 MODIFICATIONS

Common modifications that you can do to your Glock 19 to make it easier and more accurate to shoot. See also Glock 19 Accessories.

ADD AN EXTENDED MAGAZINE RELEASE TO YOUR GLOCK

Why Does Your G19 Need An Extended Magazine Release? Speeds up the process of changing out the magazine. Allows you to keep your eyes on the target while dropping your spent magazine. All that is required is the drop of a thumb to operate.

ADD MAGAZINE WELL TO YOUR GLOCK 19

G19 Magazine Well: Why Do You Need One? Adding a magazine well to the grip will make your G19 shoot better, feel better, and be more accurate. The standard grip is flat and may be short for larger hands. The magazine well fits on the bottom of the grip. It allows you hand to have a more consistent placement because the magazine well forces you to place your hand in the same spot every time. G19 Magazine Well 1. Forces your hand into the same and correct spot each time, 2. Gives you more control of the gun because you grasp it higher, 3. Both of these features give you better accuracy and consistent shooting.

ADD AN EXTENDED SLIDE STOP LEVER TO YOUR GLOCK

G19 Extended Slide Stop Lever – Why Do You Need One? The extended slide stop release really makes releasing the slide a breeze. It’s over 3mm longer than the standard slide release but not large enough to snag on a AIWB holster of clothing. With my hands, I thought I would never be able to release the slide one-handed. To my surprise and delight it was easy. The little extension really does make a big difference.

CHANGE THE TRIGGER PULL TO YOUR GLOCK

Is It Worth Installing A 3.5 LB Connector In A G19? If you want a smoother and easier trigger pull, the answer is yes. The trigger pull on my G19 with the factory Glock connector was fairly smooth (presumably because I had shot over 7,000 rounds through it) but it still had a noticable trigger break. At the trigger break I still had to pull a little harder to fire the gun. After I polished and installed the new 3.5 pound connector into my G19 I find that the trigger break has all but disappeared. My trigger pull is very smooth. That “last resistance” of the trigger pull is gone.

ADD AN EXTENDED SLIDE LOCK LEVER

What Is A G19 Slide Lock? On the outside of the pistol, the slide lock comprises those two little knurled tabs that stick out either side of the frame just above the trigger. You have to pull down on these tabs to field strip or remove the slide from the receiver or frame. The tabs are actually part of a bar that runs from side to side inside the frame of the pistol. This bar locks into a corresponding slot of the slide assembly and keeps the slide from coming off the frame. See also Lone Wolf GESL01C Chrome Extended Side Lock Lever Review.

Recoil Springs For G19. How Often Should I Change The Recoil Spring Assembly? The factory recommends every 7,000 rounds. Some guns have gone as far as 100,000 rounds without changing the spring.
